Meet The Team 20 saline INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT Information Technology Director PROGRAMMING CYBER SECURITY PROGRAMMING CYBER SECURITY UNIVERST REE RIVE ADVANCED MANUFACTURING A programs across several states, primarily in Arkansas. I met my wife while I was there working at EAST, and left there to go work for an Inuvo, Inc., an online advertising technology company. I gained a lot of experience but missed working for a purpose rather than for profit, so I applied again at EAST Initiative as their Director of Information Technology and was promoted to Senior Director of Information Technology. While I am passionate about EAST Initiative, I was reinvigorated about the opportunity to be a part of something new and great happening in Saline County-of which I've been a resident for over 8 years. 6.) Why did you get into your field? Information Technology is always changing and evolving: I thoroughly enjoy helping other people use new technology tools better so they can do something with it. 7.) Why are you teaching at the SCCTC center? I applied for the IT position at the SCCTC center because I want to be a part of building an elite workforce that will serve our county, and the scope of technology (and the facility itself) dwarfs anything I've ever worked with, and I couldn't be more excited about that! 8.) What are you most excited for about the new school? I can't wait for the inaugural class of students to experience this center and meet this passionate faculty and staff. There's been so much work by so many people to get ready for the center to open, and these students are going to WIN. 9.) What can your students expect from you? The students can expect to have a highly responsive technical support experience that not just provides answers-I want to impart knowledge and empower students to learn along the way so they can take these skills to serve themselves, and ultimately others. 10.) What else do you want to say/share? I couldn't be more excited and honored to be a part of this pioneering chapter of education in Saline County. G 1.) Name Reuben Canada 2.) What will you be teaching? I'm the IT Director at the campus, I won't be teaching but will be supporting the faculty and staff. 3.) Where are you from? originally and currently. Subiaco and Benton 4.) Where did you get your education? ASMSA, Hot Springs | University of Arkansas at Little Rock 5.) What is your career history? I started in the technology field helping our Technology Coordinator during the summers as I always had an interest in technology. I was in FBLA and took EAST in high school, and continued working with the technology staff while I attended the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts in Hot Springs. While in college, I worked for the Arkansas Department of Workforce Services as a Junior Business Analyst helping develop EZARC- the first online unemployment insurance claims system for the State of Arkansas- and continued worked there until shortly after I graduated UA Little Rock. I then went to work for the non-profit EAST Initiative as the technical support manager, supporting over 250 EAST SALINE COUNTY CTE C ANY Meet The Team 20 saline INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT Information Technology Director PROGRAMMING CYBER SECURITY PROGRAMMING CYBER SECURITY UNIVERST REE RIVE ADVANCED MANUFACTURING A programs across several states , primarily in Arkansas .
