What will you be teaching Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Special Topics in Health Services 3.) Where are you from? originally and currently. I was born and raised in Malvern. My family and I moved to Benton in 2014. 4.) Where did you get your education? I went directly to Henderson State University after gradu- ating from Malvern High School. I completed the nursing program at HSU after four years. I am proud to say that I graduated both MHS and HSU with honors, and I was the first in my family to receive a college degree. 5.) What is your career history? CNA at AR Health Center (formerly Benton Services Cen- ter), 1997-1999; Instructor for Premium Health Care Training Academy, June 2005 January 2011; Department of Hu- man Services, NATP (Nursing Assistant Training Program) Review Nurse, January 2011 October 2020 DHS, RN Surveyor, November 2020 - June 2021 ASUTR/SCCTC, CNA Instructor, July 2021 - present 6.) Why did you get into your field? My original desire to become a nurse occurred a few days after my sister's 3-month-old twin daughter passed away from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). Then saline MEDICAL PROFESSIONS ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY 0 MEDICAL PROFESSIONS later, when I realized that I was the only one who recognized the reoccurring symptoms that my niece, Dalissa, exhibited before going into a sickle cell pain crisis, I felt like nursing was calling me. I was practically helpless in both situations, but they motivated me to want to learn more about health- care. When my high school instructor, Mrs. Nix, gave us the assignment to plan out our college path, I ran across informa- tion for Henderson's nursing program. My love for Science. finding that information so quickly, and the experiences I went through with my nieces were more than enough to make up my mind. Two years after completing that A&P assignment for Mrs. Nix, I found the outline I made for her and used it to help me pick out my classes as I enrolled with HSU. 7.) Why are you teaching at the SCCTC center? As much as I loved my job at DHS, life happened. After six rounds of chemotherapy, my body told me that I needed to quit traveling, and my heart told me that I needed to be closer to home to spend more quality time with my family. After speaking with some of the staff at ASUTR, and meeting my new boss, Mr. Scott Kuttenkuler, I knew SCCTC was the place I needed to be in. Walking through ASUTR just felt like home to me, and I know that we will make SCCTC feel the same to the students who enter our doors. Besides that, I ab- solutely love teaching, and I missed being in the classroom. 8.) What are you most excited for about the new school? There is a lot about SCCTC and teaching here that excites me, but I think having the opportunity to be a part of a new book series excites me the most. The writing of this book started at least eight years ago, but it is like the pages are just now coming together and being bond for the first time. I get to be in the beginning of that novel, and I get to inspire an innumerable number of other chapters and novels to be written over the years. We, the instructors at SCCTC, won't just appear in this one novel. We will get mentioned in many, many more novels that will be written by those who complete training here. If we do our jobs correctly, and we will, our SALINE COUNTY CTE CENTER Meet The Team AUTOMOTIVE CONSTRUCTION CONSTRUCTION 0.0.0 AUTOMOTIVE BOTTO 1. ) Name Victoria Ollison A 2. ) What will you be teaching Certified Nursing Assistant ( CNA ) and Special Topics in Health Services 3. ) Where are you from ? originally and currently .
