PUBLIC NOTICE NOTICE OF FILING OF AN APPLICATION FOR A CERTIFICATE OF ENVIRONMENTAL COMIPATIBILITY AND PUBLIC NEED TO CONSTRUCT PROPOSED TRANSMISSION FACILITIES Please be advised that Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation (AECC) intends to file an Application for a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility and Public Need (CECPN) to construct certain transission facilities in Saline County. Arkansas. About AECC. AECC is the wholesale electricity service provider for First Electrie Cooperative Corporation (FECC). AECC and FECC pride themselves on providing safe, reliable electric service at the lowest reasonable cost and the construction of these facilities will assist in that mission. Summary of the Application. The Application requests an Arkan sas Public Service Commission (Commission) order no later than March 30. 2022. approving a CECPN to construct, own, and operate: a new 12-mile 161 kV transmission line from Shaw to Sardis. The new transmission line would be constructed using a right-of-way 100 feet in width. The Commission docket number assigned to the filing is Docket No 21-030-U. If such approval is granted, the Project will have an anticipated in-service date of December 1. 2023 and is anticipated to: (i) improve the reliability of FECC's members served out of the Shaw. Sardis South, Sardis, and Bryant South substations, and (ii) allow for future growth and capacity to the existing electric distribution system of FECC. Date of Filing. The Application will be filed at the Commission on or after September 30, 2021. Interventions. Intervention or limited appearances shall be filed with the Commission within thirty (30) days after the Date of Filing, unless good cause is shown under Ark. Code Ann. 8 23-18-517. Inspection. This map also shows adjacent lands that could be affected by the construction, if approved. Photographs of a typical galvanized steel pole transmission structure are also included. Newspaper Publication. A copy of this notice will be published twice in the following newspaper publications: Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and The Saline Courier. Compensation is awarded by Circuit Court in an eminent domain proceeding if the Applicant and the landowner cannot settle privately.
