Sheila Blankenship, executive officer for the Saline Home Builders, said that while the demand for new homes is high, builders are facing a lack of buildable land, as well as, increases in prices for lumber and a shortages in materials. Throughout this unprecedented time, the association has been working hard for members. Blankenship noted that the association is currently working with city officials in both Benton and Bryant to make improvements for the permitting process for new construction. Members believe improvements will make the process easier for both developers and city officials, Blankenship said. The association's mission is to support homeownership in Saline County and its trade members through legislative, educational, business and civic endeavors.
